This policy explains how LinksDM ("LinksDM," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information from visitors to linksdm.com (the "Site"). It's written to comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). If you're visiting from outside Canada, this policy still describes how your information is handled, though it isn't written to address every other country's or state's specific privacy laws.

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you don't agree, please don't submit personal information through the Site.

Information we collect

We collect personal information you provide directly, through the Submit and Contact forms on this Site:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • The link, category, and description you submit (Submit form)
  • Your message (Contact form)
  • Whether you opted in to receive marketing emails

Our hosting provider also automatically logs standard technical information common to most websites, such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and performance purposes. We don't currently use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers on this Site. If that changes, we'll update this policy.

How we use your information

We use the personal information we collect to:

  • Review and respond to link and prompt submissions
  • Respond to messages sent through the Contact form
  • Send you marketing emails about new prompts, tools, or site updates, but only if you've opted in
  • Maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site

We don't use your information for any purpose beyond what's described here without asking you first.

Your consent

We only collect and use your personal information with your knowledge and consent, as required by PIPEDA. Submitting a form on this Site means you consent to us using your information to respond to that submission. Signing up for marketing emails is a separate, optional choice, and leaving that checkbox unchecked has no effect on your form submission. You can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us (see "Contact us" below) or by unsubscribing from any marketing email you receive.

Email communications and anti-spam compliance

If you opt in to receive marketing emails from us, we'll only send them with your express consent, in line with CASL. Every marketing email we send will:

  • Clearly identify LinksDM as the sender
  • Include a way to contact us
  • Include a working unsubscribe mechanism that takes effect within 10 business days

You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.

How we share your information

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the Site, such as our web hosting and form-processing provider (Netlify), who process form submissions on our behalf. These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

We keep the personal information you submit for as long as it's needed for the purposes described in this policy, such as reviewing a submission or maintaining our mailing list, or as required by law. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see "Your rights" below).

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Withdraw your consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your information
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal requirement to retain it

Children's privacy

This Site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
